me and my therapy practice
I am a warm, experienced counsellor with broad ranging experience
working with both adults and young people and continue to value
working with both equally. I came to counselling in 2005 having
been a listening volunteer with Samaritans for 10 years and am
also employed as a counsellor in a local secondary school.
I work integratively, which means that I have training, and see
value, in a range of counselling approaches. This is helpful
because it means I can be flexible and am able to tailor my work
to that which will best meet your individual needs.
My approach is non-judgemental and aims to be empowering for
you. The relationship that develops between us is a very important
part of the process - being able to feel relaxed, safe and understood
is central to our work. I offer a warm, accepting environment
in which we can explore whatever you bring. I appreciate that
finding the right counsellor can be difficult so offer a free
initial appointment to give you the opportunity to meet me, to
see where I work and to decide if counselling is right for you.
I am an accredited and registered member of the British Association
of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and as such am bound
by its code of ethics. I am also registered with the United Kingdom
Register of Counsellors/ Psychotherapists (UKRCP), which assures
you of a high standard of care.
I work with Adults and Young People.
